Finding Sacred Space

An adult student returning to college in mid-life, I bring a slow and curious perspective to my studies. My major is Liberal Studies, which allows me to integrate religious studies, philosophy, sociology, and psychology as I research various iterations of “sacred space,” my focus area. Outside the classroom I’m a songwriter and amateur mycologist, producing music for film and television, and fascinated by mushrooms and insects when I’m hiking. This creative piece allowed me to indulge my interests in songwriting, photography, mushrooms, insects, and sacred space, while fulfilling a “reflective essay” assignment for my recent summer internship.
